Zebra in black and white, the short one. Sixty centimetres: the length you use to cross a road, walk past a terrace or get through a crowded pavement without gathering slack in your hand.

It isn't a walking leash and it isn't trying to be. It's the one you clip on when you want the dog beside you and nowhere else.

The snap hook swivels, so it untwists itself instead of winding into a rope. The handle is sewn back on itself and reinforced at the fold — the exact point that gives way first on a cheap leash.
